It's funny how this cache has had so few visits since it was published. It's funny how I was completely unaware of it being so lonesome yet so close (less than 1Km in a straight line from the "usual" places). It's funny how once we started hiking uphill I felt so much better than I normally would. Eventually, we got there. It's also funny, but in a sad way, how once there and looking south, I took a good look around and couldn't find any single known landmark to locate myself. I felt small, old, tired and eventually it started raining on me. It was a cloudy day anyway and I was asking for it. Also, I couldn't have found better company to conquer it like I did.
I don't recall who challenged first, but the forum post ended up on an endless email thread with challenges and menaces and an endless list of dates and availability clashes. I filed it under the "best effort" queue and was glad to get a few hours slot free that day to join these folks on their quest.
It's been a while since I've found such a remote place so close to home. It's been a while since I've left the bed so early for anything but work. The walk uphill was rewarding, the jokes and the human backdrop made it even better. Every cache could be like this.
Thanks!
