the idea of getting local "guides" for selected cities - for guidance, tips and hints would be great.
also, keeping a solid and updated list of recommended caches for tourists for selected cities (which would have to be kept updated regularly by these guides) with some sort of background and brief explanation of what the caches consist? uh?

Hmm... interesting... you mean like an Host?

And like a bookmark to tourist friendly's caches, in the main tourist cities... like Porto, Lisboa, Faro and Funchal...?

I already got a bookmark like that for Lisbon. My evergrowing lazyness and... hmm... real life have been stopping me from keeping it updated...

We can pick the ideia of "Couch Surfing", and do it here.
It's new, it's funny, and make new friends. One innovation in Portugal.
Basically Couch Surfing is based on borrow our couch to someone that comes to your city, to sleep without paying for that. This improves the contacts between people.
My intention is not provide places to sleep, but promote and do some city guides on geocahing to someone that comes to your city.

Let's go to an example:

I'm from Porto. I'm going to Algarve. I'll contact someone that previously announce that is available to be "city guide" on geocahing in Algarve. We arrange dates, and when i arrive to Algarve i'll do geocahing with that person or persons.

Vantages: Promote new friendships, share new ideias with new friends, lose less time on programme cache visits, etc

This would be open to Portugal members aswell foreigners coming to Portugal.

In my humble opinion the BTRodrigues Bookmark Lisbon, Portugal - Tourist Recommended it's an excelent starting point to create a Geo Touristic Guide Tour. I think it might be interesting and useful for foreign visitors to create and update these Geo Touristic Guiding Tours for the main cities and touristic regions. It would be nice to create a quite visible space in this site to put these Guiding Tours.

If anyone in Oporto wishes to create this guide to the city I'm available to update, together with BTRodrigues the Geo Touristic Guide Tour for Lisbon

Brilliant idea having a forum for those of us foreigners that don't speak portuguese (yet), despite, in my case, having ties with the country and an interest in geocaching there. Thanks!
